On a rainy afternoon when you can’t embark out, both youngsters and adults get rebellious and bothered. Many inside games can ride to the rescue to help you overcome boredom. Of the numerous board games from which you can choose chess is one game that is loved by children and adults likewise. You must have a chess set to play the game.
There many types of chess sets to purchase in the market of every material and size like wood, metal, plastic and stone. Normally, Chess is a game played by two players.
Today suddenly I remembered an old neglected promise. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not myself who has forgot only my darling hubby. He was supposed to buy me a Chess set. It was the most lovely chess set, that i found in the show window of an secondhand shop. It’s table was created of a marble type material and its chessmen were of silver and bronze. King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, and Pawn, they all appeared so realistic, complete with swords and crowns. It was love at first view.
I fell in love with that chess set. Unfortunately we went outside of the city and forgot about it. But some day I will be sure that my hubby keeps his promise and then I will tell you how I made him promise to buy me that unique chess set.
Chess sets come in many forms and assortments. Years ago I used to like to view the chess sets that were visible in a emporium in Center City, Philadelphia. The chess sets were forms of art and were kept under a counter behind glass. Each chess set shown there had a unique style. Most sets were quite high-priced. The chessmen were constructed of some different materials, and did not look like the chess pieces I possessed in my old cheap plastic chess set.
Sometimes it seemed as if you would have experienced trouble actually playing chess with a themed set, since it is hard to tell which pieces were which after you began to move them around the table. I was never sure if the people who could afford to purchase those chess sets would actually have employed them in the game. But the different chessmen and styles of chess boards were frequently gorgeous, and I would have loved to have been able to afford to purchase one of them.
One of the finest chess sets that I have ever seen was crafted by an artist that my older brother lived with. It possessed a stunning wooden chess board and the chessmen were of moulded pewter. This was really a elegant set not only for the art but likewise for the idea of the chess set, which appeared like a scene from the Lord of the Rings picture, complete with dragons, wizards, elves, dwarfs and medieval looking castles.
The one set of pieces were metal plated, while the matching pieces were the colouring of the pewter. I never was able to use it, but I did get the joy of putting it up at the fine art shows where my brother would try to sell their bosses work.
